Hello, I'm Artemis! At Bridgwater, I work as a receptionist and love being able to connect with both owners and their pets every day. In the future, I hope to continue my education and become more involved in the medical side of veterinary care by pursuing training as a Registered Veterinary Technician. I'm especially excited by opportunities to expand my hands-on knowledge and deepen my own knowledge of veterinary medicine and care.
My special interests in Veterinary Medicine are exotics and genetics—especially feline genetics! I'm particularly fascinated by colour-changing and modifying genes, including amber, russet, and carnelian! One of my favourite coat phenomena is sunshine silver (also referred to as "bimetallic") which results from interactions between alleles at different loci that cause a 'rusting' effect in the coat over time.
My favourite cat breed is a Chantilly-Tiffany, a previously rare, now extinct cat breed. My runner-up favourites are Donskoys, Norwegian Forests, Orientials, and LaPerms.
At home, two tortoiseshell cats welcome me home, my beloved Pixie Lily & Tuesday. Both were originally barn cats, now spoiled indoor cats!
