Kelly Veterinary Assistant

After a 13-year career appraising commercial property, I made a career transition and returned to university to complete a B.Sc. (Agriculture) – Animal Science.

I began working in emergency veterinary medicine in 2023. The fast-paced environment, the large team of doctors, and the wealth of knowledge I’m surrounded by make every shift an opportunity to learn. I never leave work without gaining a new experience or skill.

A fun fact about me is that I had an opportunity to move overseas for work. I lived in the UK (Glasgow and London) and traveled extensively throughout the UK and parts of Europe. I miss traveling and can’t wait to put my passport to use again!

I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Evren and a calico cat named Cali. In my spare time, Evren and I love exploring different dog sports together, including herding, rally, scent work, conformation, and agility. When I find a moment, I also love to volunteer with the Winnipeg Humane Society OneHealth team, participating in spay and neuter clinics both locally and in remote communities in northern Manitoba — where I don’t need a passport to explore the beauty in my own backyard and meet amazing people and animals!
